STARKE, Fla. – This past weekend, Florida State Guard Soldiers attended the first post-Hurricane Idalia drill training where Soldiers trained in first aid, incident management, vehicle driving, and other critical skill sets necessary to respond to emergencies across the State.
During the weekend, 77 Florida State Guard Soldiers received special recognition for their hard-work and dedication in the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia. In the days following the storm, the Florida State Guard partnered with state agencies to support recovery efforts including deploying to nine counties, providing 4,000 hot meals, and serving over 2,500 families.
