STARKE, Fla.— The Florida State Guard (FSG) proudly announces the newest class of dedicated Soldiers from the November 2024 Initial Entry Training (IET). The ceremony, held at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, marks a significant milestone as the newest members of the FSG prepare to serve and protect Florida’s citizens in times of crisis. Through their commitments, the FSG celebrates their expanded force capacity of nearly 630 personnel, representing a 425% growth rate in 2024.

"We continue to recruit, train, and graduate Florida’s highest-quality servant leaders through our rigorous 21-day Initial Entry Training Program,” said FSG Executive Director Mark Thieme. “We are immensely proud of our graduates for crossing the threshold as our newest Florida State Guard Soldiers. They will integrate into our one of our four units, strengthening our ground, maritime, aviation, and specialized services to Floridians in their most vulnerable moments.”

The FSG consists of Floridians from a diverse array of age groups and backgrounds - with experience in fields ranging from law enforcement, education, entrepreneurship, prior military service and beyond - united by their shared commitment to Florida and helping their fellow Floridians. This class gained hands-on experience in emergency response scenarios, reinforcing their skills and confidence under the most challenging conditions. With this training, these Soldiers are ready to step into action at a moment's notice, working in coordination with local and state agencies to mitigate disaster impact and save lives.

The FSG is proud to welcome these graduates into its ranks, and all those who joined in 2024. Together, they stand committed to protecting and preserving the safety and resilience of our communities.
